Equipping Ministers and Church Leaders

The Leading Issues Strategy Group is working to develop a range of events, processes and resources to help Ministers and Church Leaders in HEBA.

Among the gifts that God has given to his church are people described as prophets, apostles, pastors, teachers and evangelists. If the Apostle had been writing today no doubt he would have added treasurers and administrators as well and perhaps a few more. The purpose of these gifts to the church is to help the church grow into maturity.

The purpose of the Leading Issues Strategy Group is to help the Churches to care for their gifts. As we help those who help us so we will be helped more.

So the Leading Issues Strategy Group tries to help the churches care for all those who exercise gifted ministries in the church. Some of these are appointed people, some are elected, others serve in background capacities - all of them make vital contributions to the life of the Church and all of them are to be honoured and supported.

If you can suggest ways of supporting those who are God’s gifts to us please tell us about it.

Godly Decision Making is the ideal for every leadership meeting in our churches. Yet it is an elusive thing. We all strive for it, yet it seems presumptuous to say that we can ever fully know the mind of Christ. However, if our Churches are to be well led, it is important that every leadership group takes seriously the way in which they go about that task.

Godly Decision Making” is a sabbatical paper that offers an approach to the task. The full document may be downloaded [here].

There is also an explanatory leaflet available from [here].
