Praying together in Worcestershire

Friday 19 October

Family Trees & Psalm Drummers

Eighty people from the Worcestershire Group of churches in the Heart of England Baptist Association gathered for a morning of prayer on Saturday 12th July. In four venues spread across the area, those involved experienced different ways of praying for their churches, communities and the world.

In Worcester (Sansome Walk) the focus was on family relationships, looking at how churches in the group had been planted over the years. Prayers were offered for fresh growth from roots and branches!

Kidderminster (Franche Road) and Redditch set up prayer stations - with displays, resource materials and opportunities for people to share what they believed God was saying to them.

Tim Scarborough of Psalm Drummers, finished the morning at Evesham with an exciting session of `drumming prayer’. Based on Romans 12.4 (one body – many parts), all ages experienced the joy of bringing unique sounds together in a common rhythm.

Regional Minister, the Revd Keith Judson, said: “This was the first event of its kind in a resurgent Worcestershire Group. I’m very grateful to the church leaders who hosted the gatherings and look forward to seeing where the Lord leads us next in praying together for our area.”
