 In his lecture, Revd Dr Turner will discuss the need to critically assess Sam Sharpe’s Rebellion in 1830s Jamaica as both the fight for freedom from plantation slavery and the search for psychological wholeness and identity preservation.

Richard Reddie is a researcher and cultural commentator on the intersections of religion and race, author of works including Race for Justice and Abolition! The struggle to abolish slavery in the British colonies. He is Director of Inclusion and Justice for Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, with extensive experience in ecumenical movements for change.

Rev Dr TeressaReparations: The CTE Forum 2025 focused on Racial Justice and Reparations. Spoken words artist Poetess Jess delivered a piece that was especially written for the event. Rev Dr Tessa Henry Robinson then delivered the keynote address, with responses from panel members Bishop Desmond Greaves, Bejoy Pal and Bishop Paulina Hlawiczka-Trotman.
